Common Threads

First Thursday of each month.

10:00 am – 11:30 am

Calling all fibre artists and needleworkers! Whether your hobby of choice is knitting, embroidery, cross stitch, crochet, felting, or any other handmade piece of art worked up with needles, thread, or yarn, bring your projects and join us at the museum on the first Thursday of each month for a relaxing morning of crafting and connection.  Beginners welcome. Must have your own craft supplies. Pre-registration not required.

DTMHC - The Art of Pumpkin Carving

Feeling a little inadequate when it comes to your pumpkin-carving skills? Well, this could be the Halloween you turn heads with that jack-o-lantern on your front porch! Learn the techniques that will make your orange orb the envy of the neighbourhood. One pumpkin will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own pre-hollowed pumpkin if they prefer. Let’s get spooky!

$25 per person. Pre-registration required.

WHAM – Cancelled – Heritage Agricultural Show

10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Featuring heritage agricultural machinery displays on the north grounds of the museum as part of Waterford’s Pumpkinfest.

Due to unforeseeable circumstances, the event has been cancelled but WHAM will still be open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for visitors to visit.

Admission by donation.

WHAM – Holiday Starlight Shopping

Wednesday, December 3  & Thursday, December 4 – 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Kick-off your holiday shopping by visiting Bowlby Bros. & Co., the museum’s famous gift shop. Featuring home and garden products, unique seasonal ornaments and fabulous stocking stuffers. The museum will be open extended hours to join other vendors in Waterford for a night of holiday splendor organized through the Chamber of Commerce.

PDHM – Christmasfest

We can barely HO-HO-HOLD in all of our excitement for Port Dover’s annual ChristmasFest celebration!

Stop by the museum before or after the Santa Claus parade to share in a little Christmas cheer with us. We’ve got a festive scavenger hunt on our main floor and a Christmas craft upstairs for ages 3-10.

This event is ADMISSION BY DONATION (cash or a contribution to the Port Dover and Area Lifeline Foodbank).

DTMHC – Light up the Season: Delhi BIA Christmas Party

The Delhi BIA presents “Light up the Season.” Come see the Delhi Tobacco Museum & Heritage Centre in all its Christmas grandeur. Sip a cup of hot cocoa and try your hand at our seasonal scavenger hunt, then take a picture with olde St. Nick and tell him all of your holiday wishes!

Admission by donation.

PDHM – Three in the Round Concert

Three in the Round: The Single Malt Sessions are back at Port Dover Harbour Museum! A seasoned musical trio, Three in the Round is made up of Gwen Potter, a sought-after English session musician, singer and viola d’amor player, John Harris, a gifted guitarist, mandolinist and singer from Nova Scotia, and Bob MacLean, an East Coast singer/songwriter with a penchant for Celtic guitar. For their Single Malt Sessions, the group brings together the very best folk/trad song and tune selections from the British Isles, France, and Atlantic Canada for a special performance “in the round” at PDHM.
