2025 Heritage and Culture Program Guide

Calling all fiber artists and needleworkers! Whether your hobby of choice is knitting, embroidery, cross stitch, crochet, felting, or any other handmade piece of art worked up with needles, thread, or yarn, bring your projects and join us at the museum on the first Thursday of each month for a relaxing morning of crafting and connection.

Beginners welcome. Must have your own craft supplies. Pre-registration not required.

Kids! Join us for the perfect pumpkin painting party. Paint your own pie pumpkin. Don’t forget to grab your treat bag! Ages 3-10.

Programs at 10:00am and 1:00pm

We can barely HO-HO-HOLD in all of our excitement for Port Dover’s annual ChristmasFest celebration!

Stop by the museum before or after the Santa Claus parade to share in a little Christmas cheer with us. We’ve got a festive scavenger hunt on our main floor and a Christmas craft upstairs for ages 3-10.

This event is ADMISSION BY DONATION (cash or a contribution to the Port Dover and Area Lifeline Foodbank).

The Delhi BIA presents “Light up the Season.” Come see the Delhi Tobacco Museum & Heritage Centre in all its Christmas grandeur. Sip a cup of hot cocoa and try your hand at our seasonal scavenger hunt, then take a picture with olde St. Nick and tell him all of your holiday wishes!

Admission by donation.

Three in the Round: The Single Malt Sessions are back at Port Dover Harbour Museum! A seasoned musical trio, Three in the Round is made up of Gwen Potter, a sought-after English session musician, singer and viola d’amor player, John Harris, a gifted guitarist, mandolinist and singer from Nova Scotia, and Bob MacLean, an East Coast singer/songwriter with a penchant for Celtic guitar. For their Single Malt Sessions, the group brings together the very best folk/trad song and tune selections from the British Isles, France, and Atlantic Canada for a special performance “in the round” at PDHM.

19 DTMHC – Haunted Mill DTMHC – Haunted Mill Time TBD 19 October 2024 Saturday, October 19 & 26th Time: TBD The Quance mill has a dark side. Do you dare explore the interior of the sawmill and come face to face with the shadowy energy that built up over a hundred years of accidents and injury. What forces feed off the pain and survive in the blackness of the abandoned mill. Small brave groups tours will be guided through mill at designated time slots. 20 WHAM – Heritage Tractor Show WHAM – Heritage Tractor Show 9:00 am – 4:00 pm 20 October 2024 Vintage Tractor Show at WHAM Sunday, October 20 – 9:00am to 3:00pm WHAM will be hosting its first annual vintage tractor show in celebration of all things Pumpkinfest. 24 PDHM Not-so Victorian Séance PDHM Not-so Victorian Séance 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm 24 October 2024 At Port Dover Harbour Museum October 24 7:00pm-9:00pm $50 per person Spiritualism was a popular trend in the Victorian era reflecting a widespread fascination with the afterlife as well as the enigmatic workings of emerging communication technologies like photography, the telegraph and telephone. Learn about the mysteries of Victorian spiritualism, and then partake in a modern day reading with medium Shannon Easton. Ages 18 and up. This event is not wheelchair accessible. Space is limited.
