DTMHC - Youth Volunteer & Mentorship Program – Orientation Day

31 May 2025

May 31
10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Are you a teen looking to build a resume, earn school volunteer hours, make new friends, and develop leadership skills? Join our Youth Volunteer Team and assist with our summer camps!

Youth volunteers can offer something unique to our programs, whether you have a special talent or interest or just enjoy working with kids. The Youth Volunteer and Mentorship Program is offered to youth ages 14 and older.

Before they can begin to volunteer, all youths are required to attend an orientation day at your preferred museum site. This short session includes an introduction to the museum, Health & Safety and AODA training, a fun museum challenge, and a pizza lunch. After successful completion of the museum orientation, youth volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in programming.

Volunteers will be scheduled based on need.

Minimum commitment:

Volunteers must be willing to complete at least 35 hours of volunteering over the duration of the camps/summer. These hours can be completed as either full days (9:00 am – 4:00 pm) or half days (9:00 am – 12:30 pm or 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm). Youth can volunteer for a few days per week or for a full week at a time. We’re super flexible!

To register for this event, please email: [email protected]

The 2025 Norfolk County Heritage & Culture Events, Exhibitions, and Programs Guide is now available and includes 2025 community events, exhibits, youth programming, and more.
