PDHM – 2025 Annual Fun Car Rally

Annaleise Carr Centre

SEPT 26
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
$25 per car

All years and models welcome! Rain or shine.

Buckle up! Our 10th Annual Fun Car Rally is returning for 2026. During this fun family event, support the Port Dover Harbour Museum while cruising Norfolk’s scenic country roads! Drivers, navigators and friends will travel on a secret route, while answering questions about what they see along the way. See you at the finish line!

RALLY OVERVIEW:

REGISTRATION OPENS
Saturday, Sept. 26th @ 10:00am
Register at Port Dover Harbour Museum (44 Harbour Street, Port Dover)

REGISTRATION PROCESS

At registration, you will:
• fill out a rally registration form;
• sign waivers for all individuals in your car; and,
• pay the $25 entry fee – credit card, debit and cash (cash preferred for easy registration)

SPECIAL NOTES

You MUST have a minimum of 2 participants per vehicle – one driver, one navigator.

You will need a camera or smartphone to take pictures during the event. Your images must be e-mailed by midnight Sept. 29 to [email protected]. Please include the entrant’s name in the subject line.

HOW OUR RALLY WORKS

If you understand rally instructions, you may proceed directly to the start after registration. If this is your first car rally or you have questions, “Captain Jack” will be on hand to help.

The rally is not a race; it’s an enjoyable drive in the countryside for drivers and navigators (and friends). You are expected to drive at the speed limit or with the flow of traffic.

You will follow instructions to find the rally route while answering questions about what you see along the way. Write the answers to the questions on your Answer Sheet. Do not go onto private property unless specifically instructed to do so.

At the end of the rally, one of Captain Jack’s crew members will take your Answer Sheet from you.

Captain Jack says you will start the event with 0 points and will be assessed demerits (negative points) in the following amounts:
• for every wrong answer you will be assessed 5 demerits
• for every missed checkpoint you will be assessed 10 demerits
• for surly comments directed at Capt. Jack or his crew you will be assessed 25 demerits

At the end of the rally, Captain Jack’s crew members will total your demerits – the team with the fewest demerits will be declared winner. We’ll e-mail you the results next week, with special mention of the top photos (as judged by Captain Jack).

Captain Jack says for this year’s event he will reveal the rally route using different types of instructions. Here are examples of the instructions he might use this year:
• Enigma Codes
• Tulip Diagrams
• Road Trip Pictures
• Captain Jack “says” (following the rules of “Simon Says”)

All cars must turn in their questionnaires to the Port Dover Harbour Museum by 3:00 pm.
